Consumer Price Index for the Month of April, 2001

The Consumer Price Index for April 2001 increased by 0,76 units or 0,71% to 107,49 units compared to 106,73 in March 2001. This is mainly due to increases in the prices of certain clothing and footwear items and fresh vegetables. A decrease was recorded in the price of electricity.

2. The rate of increase of the Index for April 2001 compared to April 2000 was 1,74% while for the period of January-April 2001 the CPI recorded an increase of 1,76% compared to the corresponding period of 2000.
