Frixos Savvides was born in Kato
Amiantos, near Limassol, on
17/10/1951.
After
completing his secondary education in
Limassol, he studied Accountancy at
Putney College and Wallbrook College in
London.
On
qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, he
became a member of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants in England and
Wales.
In the
course of his career, after briefly
working in Accountancy firms, he was
Managing Partner of Savvides and
Partners/Pannell Kerr Forster, Chartered
Accountants and Auditors, a firm which he
originally set up in 1979.
He has
also served as member of the Board of the
Cyprus Telecommunications Authority and
Chairman of Apollo Football
Club.
He was
appointed Minister of Health on
25/8/1999.
He is
married with a son and two
daughters.
