UN Security Council unanimously adopts resolution 1568 on UNFICYP</FONT></H3><B>by Apostolis Zoupaniotis<BR><BR>United Nations, Oct 22 - </B>The UN Security Council unanimously adopted resolution 1568 today on the peace-keeping operation in Cyprus (UNFICYP), endorsing the Secretary General's recommendations for the amendment of the concept of operations and force level of UNFICYP, as outlined in his report of 24 September 2004 and will extend UNFICYP's mandate for a further six-month period ending 15 June 2005.<P>CYPRUS NEWS AGENCY</TD>
