Μαζί means together, while με means with
As in English language too, together and with have similar meanings
So the rule is kind of simple.Use μαζί when want to point "together" and use με when you want to point with
Eg.
Θέλω σάντουιτς με ντομάτα
I want a sandwitch with tomato
Θές να πάμε μαζί?
Do you want us to go together?
--------------------------------------
Since they have similar meanings, you can in most case use them
both
Θα τα πάρουμε μαζί μας??
Are we going to take them With us??
*Notice here μαζί is used like with instead of together
Ok I'm not much of a literature teacher,I'm just a native speaker so..I'm sure I'm right about the expression and meaning part...As for the rule part, someone more into literature and grammar could define it better
