Μου στάθικε ακόμα καλύτερα?

  This is from the novel I'm trying to read. smile
One of the characters describing how wonderful another character is says "Μου στάθικε ακόμα καλύτερα κι από την ίδια μου τη μητέρα."
What does it mean? At the beginning I thought it was "She turned out to be even better than my own mother" but then I realized it was καλύτερα, not καλύτερη, so an adverb, not an adjective.

  It means, she supported her better than her own mother.
