Reading bibles is an excellent way of language training. You can always rely on a good translation in other languages. Official orthodox bibles are difficult to read. Fortunately, there are editions in dimotikh: http://www.pergamos.com.gr/index.php?cPath=21 I found it even better to rely on “I Biblos ikonografimeni”, D. Kaldiri, Editions I. Sideris: http://www.facebook.com/pages/EKDOSEIS-I-SIDERES-I-SIDERIS-PUBLICATIONS/170661148970?filter=2 The text is well written in a non elaborated language. I bought this bible in a bookshop, where, by accident, an orthodox pope was present. He did not approve buying a non-official bible and only reluctantly agreed, that for my level of greek, a children’s bible would be better than the official edition. Richard Sliwka
