Audio on a Linux system

  Anyone else here using Linux?

I've not had the time in the last few months to come here but now I'm back smile
Anyway the audio used to play but now I cant get anything to play! I have both MPlayer and VLC installed on my system (Ubuntu 10.10).

I suspect my problem may be more my end than the site though but just curious if any other Linux users have the problem. Frustrating because it used work
