English who? is used as the subject of a sentence or clause. Whom?, the "objective" form of who?, is the form required in "correct" English grammar when who? is used as the direct object of a verb or preposition. English whose?, the "possessive" form of who?, is used when indicating possession. These various English forms correspond to the nominative, accusative, and genitive cases of Greek ποιος. Ποιος is an adjective/pronoun inflected for gender, number, and case according to its grammatical use in a sentence. Masculine gender ποιος is formally introduced in Lesson 16; feminine gender ποια is introduced in Lesson 17, while neuter gender ποιο is introduced in Lesson 18. The formation of most of the various caseforms of ποιος will be covered in Lessons 20, 22, and 24.
