DONATIONS
by sue price - Tuesday, 2 February 2021, 07:19 AM
Hello, this is my second query as I have not had a reply to my first. Your website on my computer shows that it is not a secure site. However, I have been using the site for many years without a problem. I want to make a donation. I don't use Pay Pal and I am concerned to make a payment when the site is not a secure one.

Many thanks.

A "secure" site is one that has an HTTPS (secure http) address. These kind of sites use encryption and time-stamped security certificates to ensure secure two-way communication, as well as help protect the integrity of a website from malicious attacks.

Even though Kypros.org (parent of LGO), does not have an https address, it has been for many years a known good site, as you yourself have noted, and has proven to be safe and free of malicious software. So you should be safe in donating thru PayPal, itself an encrypted and secure payment system, on the Kypros site. In fact, I personally use PayPal exclusively for any online purchases or payments.
