Hi, I couldn't really find a suitable lesson to post this in so I thought I'd just post it here. I was wondering about the following sentence: Δεν έφαγες πριν; Said after a girl asks for an ice cream from her dad. I thought it meant something like "Didn't you just eat?" but the only meaning of πριν I can find in a dictionary is "before" or "ago" but not just as an adverb like in this sentence. Would be grateful for help! |

Thanks. Also, could it possibly mean "didn't you eat one before?", the whole thing is: Θα αγοράσω μια σοκολάτα Δεν έφαγες πριν; Έφαγα, αλλά θέλω κι αλλή I was wondering whether the English "one" would have been translated here. So could it mean "Didn't you just eat one?" "Yes, (I ate one) but want another" |

The word "one" is not present but in this context it is clear the reference to μία σοκολάτα. It is not necessary to mention it. Alvaro |
