Karmi village has four churches. One is
dedicated to Archangel Michael, the second to St. Marina, the third to St.
Panteleimon, and the fourth to St. George.
After the 1974 Turkish invasion, the
Turkish military, and occupation army, have renamed Karmi into "Karaman"
in an effort to change the demographic composition of the occupied areas of
Cyprus and claim falsely that these areas are Turkish. Greek inhabitants of
Karmi, never forgetting, are waiting patiently for the holy day that they will
return in their village, FREE and happy again.
