Mix the oil, sugar, orange juice, cinnamon and beat well, mix sifted flour, baking powder and soda, add gradually to liquid mixture, form into a light dough. Form egg-sized oval portions flattened at the bottom and put onto a plain baking tin. Bake at 190° C for 20-25 minutes. Syrup: bring ingredients to the boil and skim off foam. Boil for 2-3 minutes.As soon as the melomakarona come out of the oven, pour almost cold syrup over them with a spoon and sprinkle with ground almonds. |
