Shortly before the outbreak of the last war the villagers of Odhou, men and women, were working on the construction of a new road over a high ridge, which was to connect their village to Pharmakas and thus give them a much shorter journey to the capital. I drove to Odhou and Pharmakas via that very road in April 1991. I would certainly not recommend the journey to anyone who has not got a head for heights. |
