[mdfs.JPG (14109 bytes)] | MDFs KRONE LSA-PLUS features A main distribution frame (MDF) is the interface between the subscriber cables coming from the local network (line side) and the switching equipment in the exchange (system side). The rack of the main distribution frame permits the fixing of the various connection components which can be used for both analogue and digital services. The MDF is available as a wall-secured and as a free-standing version. |

The incoming cables are connected (in cable-number order) to the
connection components fitted to the line side the MDF; the cables from the switching
equipment are similarly connected at the system side. The system side connection points
(ports) representing the subscriber numbers are cross-connected to a corresponding
subscriber pair at the line side via twisted-pair jumper wires. One of the sides of the main distribution frame is fitted with a connection component having a disconnect function, so that existing lines can be disconnected and/or testing and measuring equipment connected. Electrical interference, leakage currents or voltage peaks are limited by protection modules, so that exchange and switching systems, distribution equipment (which may pose a fire hazard) and service personnel and protected. Protection modules must be appropriate to the requirements of the user and exchage. KRONE main distribution frames offer system solutions for copper and fibre-optic technology for small, medium sized and large exchanges or PABX's. Copper distribution systems can be used for many varied applications and space requirements for 1200 pairs (system/line side) and more. The components are based on the proven LSA quick connection system (IDC technology). |
