TRAVEL AND TOURISM

Diploma in Travel and Tourism (One-year study)

The Diploma in Travel and Tourism can be completed in one year. The program is designed to provide the student with a broad understanding of the various aspects of the Travel and Tourism industry and to make the student proficient in foreign languages.

With the preparation received in the program, students have the opportunity to sit the IATA examinations. Cyprus College is an authorized IATA-UFTAA Training Center.

Specific Objectives

  • To provide a broad understanding of the various aspects of the Travel and Tourism industry and to make the student proficient in foreign languages;
  • To prepare students to acquire the qualifications required by the International Air Transport Association (IATA);
  • To provide students with a foundation in Business in general and Travel and Tourism in particular;
  • To center attention directly on the skills and knowledge required by the profession in Travel and Tourism, and to help students acquire knowledge and develop skills in a systematic way;
  • To assist the students in developing leadership capabilities which can be used in reaching solutions to problems of the individual business enterprise in general and Travel and Tourism in particular.

Employment Opportunities

Holders of the Diploma in Travel and Tourism are qualified to be placed in positions of responsibility in areas such as travel agencies, airlines, tourist organizations, tour operations and hotels.
