The agreement between the two companies was signed in Copenhagen in 1967. The production of CARLSBERG Beer in Cyprus began at the end of 1968 and was launched an the market on April 1. 1969. The CARLSBERG Brewery in Cyprus respects the environment and is situated in beautiful green surroundings near the capital, Nicosia. Greeted with Enthusiasm The Cypriot public embraced the new CARLSBERG Brewery with affection, for not only did it put an end to a long-standing monopoly but gave consumers a second choice, a superior quality Cypriot beer brewed to CARLSBERG's European specifications and "probably the best beer in the world" at local prices.
