Company Profile
ASTRA Self Drive Cars Ltd was established in 1946 as a private company
starting rentals with a small Ariel motorcycle. in 1947 it bought the
first two cars - a Morris 8 and a Renault. Today it boasts to be the best
car rental company on the island with a fleet of over 1000 cars and 10
branches scattered all over the island.
It owns its very own garage (ASTRA Service Station) where all cars are
thoroughly checked before hitting the road.

A turn-key contract was
awarded to Thomassen International of Rheden, Netherlands for the addition
of two 40MW Gas Turbine Generating Sets, bulk fuel storage, 132kv switchyard
modifications, control room additions for remote operation and
interconnection of lv supplies at Mino Power Station, Cyprus. |
Project and Site Management
was carried out by Thomassen UK Ltd who employed a number of expatriate staff
in Cyprus, all requiring vehicles.
We investigated the local
market before entering into contracts and selected ASTRA Self Drive Cars Ltd
as the supplier of our vehicles. During a fifteen month period we were
supplied with excellent service, well maintained vehicles and the number and
types of vehicles we required, often at extremely short notice.
We have no complaints and
would recommend the company to anyone requiring a similar facility.
