JEWELlERS EXHIBIT AT INTERNATIONAL JEWELLERY SHOW IN NEW YORK

Six Cypriot jewellery designers are presenting
their creations at the annual JA International Jewelry Show that is taking place
between the 25-28 of July, 2004 at the
Jacob
Javits
Center
in
New York City
. The show is
one of the largest of its kind worldwide and has been organized in
New York
for the past
17 years with the participation of almost every country in the world. Over
14,000 American jewellery retailers visit the exhibition.
The
Cyprus
pavillion
showcases the works of six companies: Jewellery Emerald Ltd., Tonia
Jewellers, Andreas Kavallaris, M.C.
Jewelry Ltd., Å.S.
Jewellery, MCJ Export Ltd., and Nicos Ioannou. The
Cyprus
exhibit was organized and overseen by the
Cyprus
Trade
Center
in
New York
and featured a variety of gold, handcarved jewellery, icons, jewellery with
precious stones, some inspired by Archaic Cyprus others by modern trends and
many other pieces. The exhibitors successfully promoted Cypriot gold and silver
jewellery exports to the
United States
and presented the historical Cypriot tradition and cultural heritage in the
field of jewellery design.
The Trade Commissioner of
Cyprus
in
New York
, Mr. Dennis Droushiotis highlighted the impressive presence of Cypriot jewelers
at this years’ exhibition and the great interest the buyers showed for the
modern and traditional designs of Cypriot jewellery. Cypriot jewellery exports
have been rising steadily in the
United States
due to the Cyprus Ministry of Commerce’s effective marketing campaign.
