        I have the honour to inform you that your letter dated 5 August 2003 (S/2003/796) concerning your intention to appoint Alvaro de Soto ( Peru ) as your Special Representative for Western Sahara has been brought to the attention of the members of the Security Council. They take note of the intention expressed in your letter.
