The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Mr. Nicos A. Rolandis today had a meeting with Amb. Dr. György Bánlaki in his capacity as the Ministerial Round Table Manager of the 2003 UNIDO Technology Foresight Summit. The Ministerial round table will focus on the impact of the EU enlargement and integration process on local industry.

At the meeting Dr. Bánlaki informed the Minister about the content of the Ministerial Round Table and that this is jointly organised by UNIDO and the Ministry of Economy and Transport of the Republic of Hungary in the framework of the "2003 UNIDO Technology Foresight Summit" to be held from 27 to 29 March 2003 in Budapest, Hungary.  This is the first of the series of annual summits and it aims at enabling regional and inter-regional exchange of experience and best practices on applying technology foresight methods and programmes as an important tool for strategic decision-making by governments, business and research community to promoting competitiveness and innovation capability.
