The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism in co-operation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Nicosia and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a high-tech seminar, that was held at  the Conference Hall  of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (7th floor) in Νicosia on Wednesday, 29 November, 2000 from 16.00 – 18.30, on:

Experiences from the promotion of High Tech at Technological
Parks and Incubators in the Czech Republic

The objective of the seminar was to provide information to interested groups in Cyprus about the institution of technological parks and incubators in the Czech Republic. In the Czech Republic there are currently 12 Science and Technological Parks accredited by the Czech Society of Science and Technological Parks, while another 5 are in operation and waiting for accreditation. Nine additional Science and Technological Parks are at the stage of establishment. The Czech experience is of particular interest to Cyprus which is at the final stage of establishing its first incubators for promoting high tech industries within the context of the New Industrial Policy that was approved by the Council of Ministers in June 1999.

The seminar was addressed to: Enterprises, research organisations, the university and other tertiary education institutions, banks, consultants, public services.

Language: The seminar was conducted in English.
