The Main Goals of the Institute of Technology

The improvement of the competitiveness and the development of the Cyprus manufacturing industry through technological upgrade and restructuring. Furthermore, the Institute focuses and promotes the creation and development of new manufacturing units that utilize new hi-tech methods of production. Such units will be able to produce products with competitive high added value which will promote the continuous upward development of the Cyprus economy.
In the light of achieving its goals the Institute cooperates closely with other organisations in order to:

Promote initiatives for the creation and management of ground-breaking projects
Create a modern center for Industrial Information and Transfer of Technology
Promote cooperative relationships between manufacturing units that produce similar products
Promote human resource development in the manufacturing sector
Utilize and develop Cypriot specialized consultants
Promote the undertaking of projects that focus on development with a positive and balanced approach to environmental issues.
Provide consultancy services that deal with technology and industrial development, and undertake projects on such issues by utilizing professional consultants that closely cooperate with the Institute of Technology.

The development of initiatives for the participation in activities and programs of the European Union which are related to the Institute's mission.

The Institute of Technology focuses on contributing dynamically in the formulation of National Policy in Science and Technology and participation in its implementation mechanisms.

In the context of its strategy for implementing its objectives, the Institute of Technology develops "catalytic" and "network facilitator" roles that aim at exploiting to the greatest extent any means and resources available, so as to provide fast and effective solutions to problems that arise throughout the Cyprus manufacturing industry.
