The Consumer Price Index for March 2002 increased by 0,67 units or
0,62% to 109,25 units compared to 108,58 in February 2002. This is mainly
due to increases in the prices of clothing and footwear items following
the end of the winter sales. A decrease was recorded in the prices of
certain fresh fruit and vegetables.
2. For the period January-March 2002 the CPI recorded an increase of
2,58% compared to the corresponding period of 2001. The rate of increase
of the Index for March 2002 compared to March 2001 was 2,36%.
