Consumer Price Index for the Month of October, 2001

The Consumer Price Index for October 2001 increased by 1,37 units or 1,26% to 110,07 units compared to 108,70 in September 2001. This is mainly due to increases in the prices of certain fresh fruit and vegetables, potatoes and certain clothing and footwear items. A decrease has been recorded in telephone charges.

2. For the period January-October 2001 the CPI recorded an increase of 1,93% compared to the corresponding period of 2000. The rate of increase of the Index for October 2001 compared to October 2000 was 2,71%.
