Lapithos was famous for its knife-making
in particular. Throughout Lapithos you could hear the sounds of hammers
banging on hot iron or steel to shape it into a useful tool. In Lapithos
one could hear the banging of steel all day and night as the iron shops
were in the inner yards of the houses in small shops.
