CYPRUS OREGANO
(Origanum cordifolium)
Appearance
An aromatic perennial sub-shrub
with wide, smooth, gland-dotted leaves often purplish in colour. Flowers
purple or pinkish appearing between June and August.
Habitat
This is a rare endemic plant of Cyprus, growing in moist rocky
gorges by mountain streams on igneous rocks between 1,500 ft and 3,000 ft.
Uses and Properties
Unknown, but probably similar to those of other origanums.
