Appearance

Malodourous greyish-white perennial with toothed leaves and compact clusters of white flowers, which appear from February to October.


Habitat

Waste ground and roadsides, or sometimes on rocky, calcareous hillsides from sea level to 4,500 ft.


Uses and Properties

Traditionally, Horehound tea is deemed most effective in the treatment of coughs and other respiratory infections. The brew must be mixed with honey and lemon juice before it becomes drinkable! It may also have stimulant properties.
