UN SECRETARY GENERALS' RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS FROM 'CNA' CORRESPONDENT FOLLOWING A MEETING WITH HIS SPECIAL ENVOY FOR CYPRUS, ALVARO DE SOTO
Q: It was a long meeting on Cyprus, when do you plan your next move on that?
SG: I am always thinking of the future.
Q: Because a month ago we were talking about committees and work to be done and nothing happened yet, I mean we have a deadline in December.
SG: Whose deadline?
Q: You were talking about a deadline in December.
I said the leaders, I said they had to make substantial progress by December. In
any case I did, my Envoy has just come back from the region and I think it was
appropriate that he gave me a thorough briefing on what he has been doing since
I last saw him and to bring me up to date on were we are and then for me to take
the next decision on the next steps of were we go.
Q: Are you still undecided sir?
SG: If I had decided you would probably know, when I decide you will know because you guys are very quick.
