The assistance provided to Cyprus by the European Union, and the opportunities for participation in common programmes, fall into three categories:

1. Financial assistance provided through the Financial Protocols envisaged in the Association Agreement. The Financial assistance is presently determined by the Fourth Financial Protocol.
2. The EU programmes for third countries in which Cyprus participates and which are non-contributary.
3. The EU programmes in which Cyprus participates which are contributary.

Cyprus is at present negotiating participation in a number of additional EU programmes. A brief description of these programmes is provided below, but for more up-to-date information and for details please contact us.
